Cold Brew Coffee
https://www.loveandlemons.com/wprm_print/how-to-make-cold-brew-coffee
Ingredients
- 1½ cups fresh coarsely ground coffee*
- 3 cups filtered water
- Milk or plant milk, optional, for serving
Instructions
- Place the ground coffee in a 28-ounce mason jar, or similar. Add the water, then stir. Cover and set aside for 12 to 24 hours at room temperature.
- Spread a piece of cheesecloth in a fine mesh strainer and place it over a large bowl. Pour the coffee into the bowl to strain it. Store the strained coffee in the fridge.
- When ready to serve, pour over ice and add milk, if desired.
- If the coffee is stronger than you'd like, dilute it with water or additional milk, as desired.
Notes:
- *Freshly ground coffee is best for cold brew. Pre-ground coffee will have a staler taste.
- Recipe can be scaled up or down keeping the 2:1 ratio (water:coffee) by volume. Yes... that's a LOT of coffee grounds to make 6 cups of coffee (concentrate).
- Recipe makes a coffee concentrate - mix with milk, cream, water to suit your taste.
- Glass or stainless steel containers are preferred. Food-safe plastic, BPA-free, etc. can be used but risk staining, taste/odor transfer, and chemical leaching issues. This is especially true for storage of the cold brew coffee.

- 2 oz Yukon Jack
- 2 oz Grand Chambourd
- 1 well-rounded Tbl Brown sugar
- Ground Cinnamon
- Hot Coffee
- whipped Cream
In one fire-proof pitcher place Yukon Jack
In another fire proof pitcher place Grand Chambourd and brown sugar
Light contents of first pitcher, swirling to heat through.
Pour flaming Yukon into second pitcher, swirling and pouring between pitchers to heat thoroughly. Divide contents between pitchers and sprinkle ground cinnamon into the flames for a sparkling effect. Continue swirling and pouring contents between pitchers.
Divide contents, still flaming, into two coffee mugs, sprinkle with cinnamon, and add 6 ounces of coffee to each mug, extinguishing the flames. Top with a generous dollop of whipped cream and additional powdered cinnamon.

Combine the following ingredients:
- 2 Bottles Red Wine
- 1 to 1½ cup sugar
- 1 stickcinnamon
- 3 or 4 lemon slices, each studded with 3 or 4 cloves
- 1 Orange, cut into small wedges
Heat all ingredients, except oranges, until nearly boiling. DO NOT BOIL!. Place an orange wedge in the bottom of each glass or mug and add Gluhwein. Recipe can be halved.
To save time when serving large groups, you can simply slice the orange and add it to the mixture when heating the Gluhwein.
