[News]letter Opener
http://www.katein-taylor.com/library/newsletteropener.html
A little utility page I wrote to open all of the links in a tech newsletter I receive several times a week. The first time you use it, you'll need to enable pop-ups for this site. Much easier than clicking each link to each article each time I get a newsletter.
Radio Station Finder
I found this to be a great site when traveling and when looking for a radio stream to listen to locally.

Winston Churchill Day - April 9
"Smoking cigars is like falling in love. First, you are attracted by its shape; you stay for its flavor, and you must always remember never, never to let the flame go out!"
- Winston Churchill
Old Blue is up and running again!
Flexplates are for
EOD, C6 = pushes torque converter too far into an AOD transmission and can mess up the pump, torque converter, etc
or
AOD, C4 = less concave. Need flexplate from a mid-1980s crown victoria to put a AOD on the end of a 302. part number: FRA-205
From Joe:
Run a can of "Cooler cleaner" through the transmission cooler
= or =
buy a new one. The metal shards from the failed pump are in there, and are too small to easily see. Hold some of the fluid from the cooler in the sun, and you may see shiny bits.
New Cooler: $30, Oreilly Auto
Mate transmission and engine by hand, no tools, not even for the bolts to finger tight against the housings.
If the torque converter doesn't have any play - front to back AND spinning - it's in wrong. If the play front to back is more than 0.125" [1/8"], the flexplate is still wrong.
If all looks good, then add 6-7 quarts to the transmission.
Start in Neutral with the drive wheels on jack stands and the front wheels firmly blocked.
Immediately add fluid to make 10 quarts.
Run through the gears pausing a few moments at each gear. No need to run-up the engine speeds. End in Neutral. Check fluid level - fill to "cold full" on the dipstick.
DO NOT PUT IN PARK IF THE BACK WHEELS ARE SPINNING.
Simplisafe makes a pretty cool camera!
Another Great Day in South Park
Scotch, Cigar, and Dark Chocolate - a great way to finish a terrific day.
I knew it! Is there nothing coffee can't do?
This one didn't make the news.

Morning Bell: The Specter of Taxmageddon Rises
"A horrifying combination of expiring pro-growth tax policies from 2001 and 2003, the end of the once-temporary payroll tax cut, and just a few of Obamacare’s 18 new tax hikes, Taxmageddon will be the largest tax increase EVER to hit Americans. It’s nearly $500 billion in one year, starting January 1. That’s two months away."
Dad, What's a "pull-tab"?
Yes, The USAFA Class of 1984 ring does, indeed, have beer can pull tabs forming the chain around the bezel.
