Building a Better Mouse Trap
Well, the chicken feed was getting devoured at an amazing rate, but the birds were neither gaining weight nor laying a dozen eggs a week each. So, a late night investigation revealed a bumper crop of field mice this spring.
They weren't interested in formal traps... so we went redneck. I don't suppose they cover this in mouse school - it really is effective. We caught 6 the first night, 2 the next, and 1 the following night.

Something new in the yard. The birds looked the contraption for all of about a minute, and then ignored it.

Elegantly simple and effective. The can on the spindle has a thin coating of all-natural peanut butter.

And who can resist a midnight snack of all-natural peanut butter?
